Our knowledge of the role of proteins in cellular processes is continually evolving. Most proteins, including TSLP are typically involved in one or more signaling pathways or biological processes. Professionally manufactured recombinant proteins are increasingly becoming essential and commonplace tools for elucidating new knowledge about the role of proteins in both health and disease.
Protein Type: Recombinant
Biological Significance: TSLP is a hemopoietic protein that is expressed in the heart, liver and prostate. TSLP overlaps biological activities with IL7 and binds with the heterodimeric receptor complex consisting of the IL7R alpha chain (IL7Ra) and the TSLP-specific chain (TSLPR). Like IL7, TSLP induces phosphorylation of STAT3 and STAT5, but uses kinases other than the JAKs for activation. TSLP prohibited apoptosis and stimulated growth of the human acute myeloid leukemia (AML)-derived cell line MUTZ3. It induces the release of T cell-attracting chemokines TARC and MDC from monocytes and activates CD11c(+) dendritic cells (DCs).
Endotoxin Levels: Endotoxin level is less than 0.1 ng per ug (1 EU/ug). Expression System: E Coli. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. Bone Marrow, Brain, Connective Tissue, Eye, Lung, Salivary Gland, Skin, Thyroid tissues are correlated with this protein. Asthma, Cardiovascular Diseases, Dermatitis, Atopic, Disease Models, Animal, Eosinophilic Esophagitis, Fibrosis, Hyperplasia, Inflammation, Lung Diseases, Necrosis are some of the diseases may be linked to TSLP protein. TSLP also interacts with the following gene(s): CCL17, CRLF2, FOXP3, IL13, IL4, IL7R, STAT5A, STAT5B, TNFRSF4.
