The SET set (Catalog #MBS396382) is a Peptide produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The SET, Phosphatase 2A Inhibitor I2PP2A reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s SET, Phosphatase 2A Inhibitor I2PP2A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SET set for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.

The SET set product has the following accession number(s) (GI #170763500) (NCBI Accession #NP_001116293.1) (Uniprot Accession #Q01105). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Human SET was originally identified as part of the SET-CAN fusion gene produced by a somatic translocation event in a patient with acute undifferentiated leukemia. In developing kidney, SET is highly expressed in the zone of nephron morphogenesis. SET has been shown to be a potent and specific inhibitor of protein phosphatase 2A, a family of major serine/threonine phosphatases involved in regulating cell proliferation and differentiation. SET is also involved in the regulation of renal cell proliferation and tumorigenesis. SET mRNA expression is markedly reduced in cells rendered quiescent by serum starvation, contact inhibition, or differentiation. SET protein expression is also much greater in developing rat and human kidney than in fully differentiated, mature kidney. High levels of SET mRNA and SET protein expression arefound in Wilms\' tumor, but not in renal cell carcinoma, adult polycystic kidney disease or in transitional cell carcinoma.

SET set

Immunogen: peptide. Positive Control: Widely expressed. Low levels in quiescent cells during serum starvation, contact inhibition or differentiation. Highly expressed in Wilms\' tumor. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. SET also interacts with the following gene(s): ANP32A, APEX1, ELAVL1, NME1, NUP214, TNFSF13, USP46, XPO1. Breast Neoplasms, Carcinoma, Cardiovascular Diseases, Disease Models, Animal, Drug Toxicity, Eye Diseases, Hypertension, Inflammation, Neoplasms, Nervous System Diseases are some of the diseases may be linked to SET, Phosphatase 2A Inhibitor I2PP2A. Connective Tissue, Embryonic Tissue, Eye, Heart, Intestine, Kidney, Liver, Lung, Mixed, Prostate tissues are correlated with this protein.
