Typical Testing Data/Standard Curve (for reference only)
Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for POMC has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any POMC present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for POMC is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of POMC bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
Samples: Serum, cell culture supernates, tissue homogenates
Assay Type: Sandwich
Detection Range: 78 pg/ml-5000 pg/ml
Sensitivity: 19.5 pg/ml. Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV% is less than 8%
Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess.
Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV% is less than 10%
Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.
Detection Wavelength: 450 nm
Sample Volume: 50-100ul. Human pro-opiomelanocortin, POMC ELISA Kit or ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbant assays) Kits in general, are a valuable research tool for a myriad of applications in a range of scientific settings. Currently, three major types of ELISA formats are used by researchers: sandwich, competitive and indirect. Most commercially available ELISA Kits are sandwich or competitive. Commercially available ELISA Kits contain wells that have been pre-coated with the capture antibody. Please refer to the product manual for the ELISA format of your specific kit. Cushing Syndrome, Diabetes Mellitus, Gastrointestinal Diseases, Hemorrhage, Immune System Diseases, Infection, Kidney Diseases, Mental Disorders, Necrosis, Obesity are some of the diseases may be linked to Human pro-opiomelanocortin, POMC ELISA Kit. POMC also interacts with the following gene(s): CRH, CYP17A1, GIPR, MC1R, MC2R, MC3R, MC4R, MC5R, NPY, OPRM1. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. Brain, Embryonic Tissue, Eye, Intestine, Lung, Pituitary Gland, Placenta, Testis, Uncharacterized Tissue, Uterus tissues are correlated with this protein.
