The PI n/a (Catalog #MBS826722) is a Reagent and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. MyBioSource\'s PI can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunofluorescence (IF).Propidium iodide (PI) has been widely used as a fluorescent stain for DNA in cells; it specificity binds double-stranded nucleic acids in apoptosis, necrosis and fixed cells. PI and DNA complex show light red flourescent color with excitation light 493 nm and emission light 630 nm. It can not throughout the normal living cells membrane, but it enters the apoptosis, necrosis and fixed cells and binds double-stranded DNA. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PI n/a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
