Intended Uses: For the quantitative detection of Penicillin G (benzyl penicillin) concentration in tissue, egg, milk.
Principle of the Assay: This assay is based on the competitive enzyme immunoassay for the detection of benzyl penicillin in the sample. The coupling antigens are pre-coated on the micro-well stripes. The benzyl penicillin in the sample and the coupling antigens pre-coated on the micro-well stripes compete for the enzyme conjugate anti-benzyl penicillin antibodies. After the addition of the enzyme conjugate, the TMB substrate is added for coloration. The optical density (OD) value of the sample has a negative correlation with the benzyl penicillin in it. This value is compared to the standard curve and the benzyl penicillin concentration is subsequently obtained.
Samples: Tissue, egg, milk
Assay Type: Quantitative Competitive
Detection Range: 0.05 ppb - 4.05 ppb. Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay) Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess intra-assay precision. Intra-Assay: CV<8%
Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays) Three samples of known concentration were tested in forty separate assays to assess inter-assay precision. CV(%) = SD/meanX100. Inter-Assay: CV<15%. Penicillin G (benzyl penicillin) ELISA Kit or ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbant assays) Kits in general, are a valuable research tool for a myriad of applications in a range of scientific settings. Currently, three major types of ELISA formats are used by researchers: sandwich, competitive and indirect. Most commercially available ELISA Kits are sandwich or competitive. Commercially available ELISA Kits contain wells that have been pre-coated with the capture antibody. Please refer to the product manual for the ELISA format of your specific kit.
