The LEP lep (Catalog #MBS142382) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase.

The LEP lep product has the following accession number(s) (GI #50978738) (NCBI Accession #NP_001003070.1) (Uniprot Accession #O02720). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful. The amino acid sequence is listed below:
The sequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids was determined and was found to be Ala-Val-Pr o-Ile-Arg.

Our knowledge of the role of proteins in cellular processes is continually evolving. Most proteins, including Leptin are typically involved in one or more signaling pathways or biological processes. Professionally manufactured recombinant proteins are increasingly becoming essential and commonplace tools for elucidating new knowledge about the role of proteins in both health and disease.

LEP lep

Solubility: It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Leptin in sterile 18M Omega -cm H2O not less than 100 ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Protein Content: Protein quantitation was carried out by two independent methods1. UV spectroscopy at 280 nm using the absorbency value of 0.19 as the extinction coefficient for a 0.1% (1mg/ml) solution. This value is calculated by the PC GENE computer analysis program of protein sequences (IntelliGenetics). 2. Analysis by RP-HPLC,using calibrated solution of Leptin Dog as a Reference Standard.
Biological Activity: Biological active as evidenced by inducing proliferation of BAF/3 cells stably transfected with the long form of human leptin receptor. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. LEP also interacts with the following gene(s): GHRL, INS, LEPR, NPY, PPARG, SOCS3, STAT3, TNF. Cardiovascular Diseases, Fatty Liver, Hyperinsulinism, Inflammation, Insulin Resistance, Liver Diseases, Obesity, Pain, Weight Gain, Weight Loss are some of the diseases may be linked to Recombinant Dog Leptin.
