Our knowledge of the role of proteins in cellular processes is continually evolving. Most proteins, including Interleukin-13 are typically involved in one or more signaling pathways or biological processes. Professionally manufactured recombinant proteins are increasingly becoming essential and commonplace tools for elucidating new knowledge about the role of proteins in both health and disease.
Molecular Weight Note: Approximately 12.5 kDa, a single non-glycosulated polypeptide chain containing 114 amino acids.
Physical Appearance: Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder. Biological Activity: Fully biologically active when compared to standard. The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent proliferation of TF-1 cells was < 1.0 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of > 1 x 106 units/mg.
Endotoxin Level: Less than 1EU/mg of rHuIL-13 as determined by LAL method.
Reconstitution: We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Reconstitute in sterile distilled water or aqueous buffer containing 0.1% BSA to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. Stock solutions should be apportioned into working aliquots and stored at <-20 degree C. Further dilutions should be made in appropriate buffered solutions. Bone Marrow, Brain, Mixed, Testis tissues are correlated with this protein. IL13 also interacts with the following gene(s): GATA3, IL13RA1, IL13RA2, IL18, IL4R, IL5, STAT6, TSLP, VCAM1. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. Asthma, Bronchial Hyperreactivity, Fibrosis, Hypersensitivity, Hypersensitivity, Immediate, Inflammation, Lung Diseases, Necrosis, Nervous System Diseases, Respiratory Hypersensitivity are some of the diseases may be linked to Recombinant Human Interleukin-13 (rHu IL-13).
