Our knowledge of the role of proteins in cellular processes is continually evolving. Most proteins, including Factor VII are typically involved in one or more signaling pathways or biological processes. Professionally manufactured recombinant proteins are increasingly becoming essential and commonplace tools for elucidating new knowledge about the role of proteins in both health and disease.
Source Note: Human plasma
Protein Type: Native
Biological Significance: Factor VII is one of the central proteins in the coagulation cascade. It is an enzyme of the serine protease class. The main role of factor VII is to initiate the process of coagulation in conjunction with tissue factor (TF/factor III). Biohazard Information: Donor samples were tested and found to be negative for Anti-HIV1/2, Anti-HTLV I & II, HBsAg, Anti-HCV, Syphilis, HBC Ab, HIV-1 p24 Ag or HIV-1 RNA, HCV RNA and HBV RNA. Nonetheless caution should be used when handling this material as there is a margin of error in all tests. Donors were also screened for CJD (Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease).
