The Mouse CD86 cd86 (Catalog #MBS703663) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MBS703663 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse (Murine, General) CD86.

The CD86 cd86 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #161484599) (NCBI Accession #NP_062261.3) (Uniprot Accession #P42082). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Typical Testing Data/Standard Curve (for reference only) CD86.

Introduction: The protein CD86 (Cluster of Differentiation 86) is a molecule expressed on antigen-presenting cells that provide costimulatory signals necessary for T cell activation and survival. It is the ligand for two proteins at the cell surface of T cells, CD28 antigen and CTLA-4 (cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated protein 4). CD86 is also known as B7.2. Its principal mode of action is by binding to CD28. Along with CD80, these molecules provide the necessary stimuli to prime T cells against antigens presented by antigen-presenting cells. Binding of this protein with CTLA-4 negatively regulates T-cell activation and diminishes the immune response.

Principle of the Assay: The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to sCD86. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody preparation specific for sCD86 and Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. Then a TMB (3,3\',5,5\' tetramethyl-benzidine) substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain sCD86, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The concentration of sCD86 in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV% is less than 8%
Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess.
Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV% is less than 10%
Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.
Detection Wavelength: 450 nm
Sample Volume: 50-100ul
Protein Biological Process 1: Immunity
Protein Biological Process 3: Adaptive immunity. Mouse soluble Cluster of differentiation 86, sCD86 ELISA Kit or ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbant assays) Kits in general, are a valuable research tool for a myriad of applications in a range of scientific settings. Currently, three major types of ELISA formats are used by researchers: sandwich, competitive and indirect. Most commercially available ELISA Kits are sandwich or competitive. Commercially available ELISA Kits contain wells that have been pre-coated with the capture antibody. Please refer to the product manual for the ELISA format of your specific kit.
