Our knowledge of the role of proteins in cellular processes is continually evolving. Most proteins, including Eotaxin 2 are typically involved in one or more signaling pathways or biological processes. Professionally manufactured recombinant proteins are increasingly becoming essential and commonplace tools for elucidating new knowledge about the role of proteins in both health and disease.
Protein Type: Recombinant
Biological Significance: Eotaxin-2 is a CC chemokine that signals through the CCR3 receptor. It is produced by activated monocytes and T lymphocytes. Eotaxin-2 selectively chemoattracts cells expressing CCR3 including eosinophils, basophils, Th2 T cells, mast cells, and certain subsets of dendritic cells. Additionally, Eotaxin-2 inhibits the proliferation of multipotential hematopoietic progenitor cells. The mature protein, which also includes a C-terminal truncation, contains 78 amino acid residues (92 a.a. residues for the Mouse homolog, without C-terminal truncation).
Bioactivity: Determined by its ability to chemoattract using human peripheral blood eosinophils using a concentration of 50.0-100.0 ng/ml.
Endotoxin Levels: Endotoxin level is less than 0.1 ng per ug (1 EU/ug). Expression System: E Coli. Ccl24 also interacts with the following gene(s): Ccr1, Ccr2, Ccr3, Ccr4, Ccr5, Ccr9, Cxcr2, Cxcr3, Cxcr5. Asthma, Dermatitis, Fibrosis, Hypersensitivity, Immune System Diseases, Inflammation, Lung Diseases, Necrosis, Respiratory Tract Diseases, Skin Diseases are some of the diseases may be linked to Eotaxin 2 protein. Embryonic Tissue, Intestine, Spleen, Thymus tissues are correlated with this protein. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene.
