Our knowledge of the role of proteins in cellular processes is continually evolving. Most proteins, including CA 15-3 are typically involved in one or more signaling pathways or biological processes. Professionally manufactured recombinant proteins are increasingly becoming essential and commonplace tools for elucidating new knowledge about the role of proteins in both health and disease.
Host Note: Prepared from human BTA cell line supernatant.

Contaminants: CA 19-9: 27.44 U/ml (0.014%)
CA 125: 49.07 U/ml (0.25%)
CEA: 2.32 ng/ml (0.01%)
Biohazard: This product has been tested at cell line supernatant level and found negative for HIV I/II Ab, HBsAg, HCV Ab, HIV-1, and HCV by NAT per current FDA methods. Please note that samples tested were cell culture supernatants, not serum, and therefore not appropriate for use in these assays. Species: Human
Protein Type: Native
Additional Remarks: Relative Purity Ratio: 7,397 U/ml/OD280
Biological Significance: CA 15-3 (Cancer Antigen 15-3) is a breast tumor marker. Tests measuring the MUC1- glycoprotein are FDA/EU approved including CA 15-3, CA 27-29 and Br assays. Reoccurrence detection of breast cancer by MUC-1 assay can preceed confirmation by radiological detection methods by 1-9 months.
