The VIM vim (Catalog #MBS140124) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Mouse Anti Human Vimentin Biotinylated reacts with Vimentin antibody will recognize most mammalian Vimentin except mouse and rat. and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s Vimentin Biotinylated can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC).For intra-cellular staining, use 5-10 ul/1,000,000 cells. Wash twice with PBS/Azide before adding the appropriate amount of secondary fluorescent reagent. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the VIM vim for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The VIM vim product has the following accession number(s) (GI #62414289) (NCBI Accession #NP_003371.2). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Introduction: Vimentin expression in human malignant glioma cells depends on cellular density, algorithms of drug delivery and chemo/radio treatment. Vimentin and detyrosinated microtubules provide structural support for the extensive microtentacles observed in detached tumor cells and a mechanism to promote successful metastatic spread. Primary colorectal carcinomas display aberrant expression of vimentin, and have activated Notch and TGFbeta signaling pathways. Vimentin is a strong arterial substrate for transglutaminases. Transglutaminase-mediated vimentin dimerization results in a novel unifying pathway by which vasodilatory and remodeling responses may be regulated. Ablation of vimentin expression inhibits migration and invasion of colon and breast cancer cell lines.
Other Available Forms: This antibody is also available conjugated to FITC and non conjugate form. Reconstitution: Reconstitute with H20. Mix gently, wash the sides of the vial and wait 30-60 seconds before use.
Immunogen: Purified Human Vimentin. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing VIM are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as VIM may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. Blood, Bone, Bone Marrow, Brain, Eye, Kidney, Liver, Lung, Muscle, Nerve tissues are correlated with this protein. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. Breast Neoplasms, Disease Models, Animal, Hemorrhage, Inflammation, Kidney Diseases, Liver Diseases, Neoplasm Metastasis, Nervous System Diseases, Neurodegenerative Diseases, Pain are some of the diseases may be linked to Mouse Anti Human Vimentin Biotinylated.
