|The Vcp vcp (Catalog #MBS530388) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The p97 ATPase antibody reacts with Frog, Human, Rabbit, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s p97 ATPase can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB).
WB: 1:1,000-1:2,000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Vcp vcp for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The Vcp vcp product has the following accession number(s) (GI #4589068) (NCBI Accession #AAD26333.1). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Mouse monoclonal p97 ATPase antibody.
Biological Significance: p97 ATPase / VCP (also described as valosin-containing protein) is implicated in homotypic membrane fusion events and is related to the N-ethyl maleimide-sensitive fusion protein NSF/Sec18p. The antibody reacts with the p97 subunit of 15S Mg2+-ATPase. p97/VCP is involved in ubiquitin-proteasome dependent protein degradation processes and involvement was also found e.g. in the formation of neuronal inclusion bodies in neuro-degenerative diseseases (e.g. Parkinson?s disease). Biohazard Information: This product contains sodium azide as preservative. Although the amount of sodium azide is very small appropriate care must be taken when handling this product.
Immunogen: p97 ATPase antibody was raised in mouse using 15S Mg2+ ATPase complex purified from xenopus laevis ovary as the immunogen. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing Vcp are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as Vcp may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. Adenocarcinoma, Atrophy, Carcinoma, Cardiovascular Diseases, Disease Models, Animal, Heart Diseases, Immune System Diseases, Inflammation, Lung Neoplasms, Necrosis are some of the diseases may be linked to p97 ATPase antibody. Blood, Bone, Brain, Eye, Heart, Liver, Lung, Muscle, Skin, Thyroid tissues are correlated with this protein. Vcp also interacts with the following gene(s): Amfr, Atxn3, Derl1, Nploc4, Nsfl1c, Plaa, Syvn1, Ube4b, Ufd1l. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene.
