The UNG ung (Catalog #MBS200056) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The UNG antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s UNG can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunofluorescence (IF).WB: 1:1,000 ~ 2,000.
Recommended starting dilution is 1:1,000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the UNG ung for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The UNG ung product has the following accession number(s) (GI #19718751) (NCBI Accession #NP_550433) (Uniprot Accession #P13051). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the UNG antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (The cell lysates (40ug) were resolved by SDS-PAGE, transferred to PVDF membrane and probed with anti-human UNG antibody (1:1000). Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-mouse secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and an ECL detection system. Lane 1 : HeLa cell lysate Lane 2 : Jurkat cell lysate Lane 3 : MCF7 cell lysate Lane 4 : K562 cell lysate Lane 5 : 293T cell lysate Lane 6 : HepG2 cell lysate Lane 7 : A549 cell lysate Lane 8 : SK-OV-3 cell lysate Lane 9 : PC3 cell lysate)
Immunofluorescence (IF) (ICC/IF analysis of UNG in HeLa cells. The cell was stained with AUN0713 (1:100). The secondary antibody (green) was used Alexa Fluor 488. DAPI was stained the cell nucleus (blue).)
The human UNG gene encodes both mitochondrial (UNG1) and nuclear (UNG2) forms of uracil-DNA glycosylase (UNG). These forms are generated from transcription from alternative promoters, promoter An and promoter B respectively, and the subsequent use of alternative splicing. UNG is responsible for the removal of uracil from DNA by hydrolysis of the N-glycosidic bond that links the base to the deoxyribose backbone, leaving an abasic site. UNG is a highly conserved enzyme found in many species.
Antigen Species: Human
Immunogen: Recombinant human UNG (1-313aa) purified from E. coli. Clone Note: Anti-human UNG mAb, clone k1C12, is derived from hybridization of mouse SP2/O myeloma cells with spleen cells from BALB/c mice immunized with a recombinant human UNG protein. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing UNG are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as UNG may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
