The TFF1 tff1 (Catalog #MBS175353) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Estrogen Inducible Protein pS2 antibody reacts with Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s Estrogen Inducible Protein pS2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin.Western Blot:
Concentration: 0.1-0.5ug/ml
Tested Species: Rat
Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin-embedded Section):
Concentration: 0.5-1ug/ml
Tested Species:Rat
Antigen Retrieval: By Heat
Tested Species: In-house tested species with positive results.
Predicted Species: Species predicted to be fit for the product based on sequence similarities.
By Heat: Boiling the paraffin sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 20 mins is required for the staining of formalin/paraffin sections.
Other applications have not been tested.
Optimal dilutions should be determined by end users. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TFF1 tff1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The TFF1 tff1 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #585735) (NCBI Accession #Q08423.1) (Uniprot Accession #Q08423). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

TFF1(Trefoil factor 1), also known as pS2, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the TFF1 gene. Members of the trefoil family are characterized by having at least one copy of the trefoil motif, a 40-amino acid domain that contains three conserved disulfides. They are stable secretory proteins expressed in gastrointestinal mucosa. Their functions are not defined, but they may protect the mucosa from insults, stabilize the mucus layer, and affect healing of the epithelium. It is found that TFF1 in normal human urine inhibited the growth of calcium oxalate crystals. Urinary TFF1 showed an inhibitory potency similar to that of nephrocalcin, and inhibition was dose dependent and inhibited by TFF1 antisera, particularly by antisera directed to the TFF1 C terminus. Concentrations and relative amounts of TFF1 in the urine of patients with idiopathic calcium oxalate kidney stones were significantly less than those found in controls. This gene, which is expressed in the gastric mucosa, has also been studied because of its expression in human tumors. This gene and two other related trefoil family member genes are found in a cluster on chromosome 21.
