Rabbit polyclonal Streptococcus Group B antibody (HRP) conjugated.
Biological Significance: S. agalactiae, or GBS, causes pneumonia and meningitis in neonates and the elderly, with occasional systemic bacteremia. They can also colonize the intestines and the female reproductive tract, increasing the risk for premature rupture of membranes and transmission to the infant. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, American Academy of Pediatrics and the Centers for Disease Control recommend all pregnant women between 35 and 37 weeks gestation should be tested for GBS. Women who test positive should be given prophylactic antibiotics during labor, which will usually prevent transmission to the infant. Cross-Reactivity: This antibody recognizes a type specific carbohydrate of group B Streptococcus
Tag/Conjugate: HRP
Immunogen: Streptococcus group B antibody (HRP) was raised in rabbit using group B Streptococci as the immunogen. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing Streptococcus Group B are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as Streptococcus Group B may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
