The Streptococcus Group A n/a (Catalog #MBS535859) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Streptococcus Group An antibody reacts with Streptococcus group An and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s Streptococcus Group A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, User optimized. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Streptococcus Group A n/a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The Streptococcus Group A n/a product has the following accession number(s) (GI #253585) (NCBI Accession #AAB22898.1). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Affinity purified Rabbit polyclonal Streptococcus Group An antibody.
Biological Significance: S. pyogenes, also known as Group A Streptococcus (GAS), is the causative agent in Group A streptococcal infections, including streptococcal pharyngitis ("strep throat" AmE), acute rheumatic fever, scarlet fever, acute glomerulonephritis and necrotizing fasciitis. Other Streptococcus species may also possess the Group An antigen, but human infections by non-S. pyogenes GAS strains (some S. dysgalactiae subsp. equisimilis and S. anginosus Group strains) appear to be uncommon. Biohazard Information: This product contains sodium azide as preservative. Although the amount of sodium azide is very small appropriate care must be taken when handling this product.
Immunogen: Streptococcus group An antibody was raised in rabbit using Streptococcus Aas the immunogen. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing Streptococcus Group An are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as Streptococcus Group A may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
