The PLK1 plk1 (Catalog #MBS502102) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Phospho-Thr210 Polo-like Kinase 1 reacts with Rat, human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s Polo-Like Kinase (Thr210) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB).Quality Control: Western blots performed on each lot.
WB: 1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PLK1 plk1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The PLK1 plk1 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #21359873) (NCBI Accession #NP_005021.2) (Uniprot Accession #P53350). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the Anti-Phospho-Thr210 Polo-like Kinase 1 with the following immunoassay(s):
Testing Data
Affinity purified rabbit polyclonal antibody.
Antigen: Phosphopeptide corresponding to amino acid residues surrounding the phospho-Thr210 of PLK1.
Immunogen Information: Synthetic phospho-peptide corresponding to amino acid residues surrounding Thr210 conjugated to KLH
Immunogen Species: Human. Reactivity Assumed Based on 100% Sequence Homology: Bovine, canine, mouse, non-human primate, Xenopus and Zebrafish
Species Reactivity Note: The antibody has been directly tested for reactivity in Western blots in rat and human tissues. It is anticipated that the antibody will react with bovine, canine, mouse, non-human primate, Xenopus and Zebrafish tissues based on the fact that these species have 100% homology with the amino acid sequence used as antigen.
Biological Significance: Polo-like kinases are important regulators of cell cycle progression. PLK1 is a highly conserved Ser/Thr kinase that has essential roles in the formation of mitotic bipolar spindles (van Vugt et al., 2004). Deregulated expression of PLK\'s is detected in many types of cancer and associated with oncogenesis (Takei et al., 2005). It has been proposed that PLK1 function is altered at different stages of mitosis through consecutive phosphorylation events at Ser137 and Thr210 (van de Weerdt et al., 2005). In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing PLK1 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as PLK1 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene.
