The PEX5 pex5 (Catalog #MBS713281) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit anti-human peroxisomal biogenesis factor 5 polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s peroxisomal biogenesis factor 5 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PEX5 pex5 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The PEX5 pex5 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #14714929) (NCBI Accession #AAH10621.1). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Immunogen: Human PEX5
Product Type: Purified Rabbit Anti human PolyClonal Antibody
Immunogen Species: Homo sapiens (Human)
Target Names: PEX5
Target Details: The product of this gene binds to the C-terminal PTS1-type tripeptide peroxisomal targeting signal (SKL-type) and plays an essential role in peroxisomal protein import. Peroxins (PEXs) are proteins that are essential for the assembly of functional peroxisomes. The peroxisome biogenesis disorders (PBDs) are a group of genetically heterogeneous autosomal recessive, lethal diseases characterized by multiple defects in peroxisome function. The peroxisomal biogenesis disorders are a heterogeneous group with at least 14 complementation groups and with more than 1 phenotype being observed in cases falling into particular complementation groups. Although the clinical features of PBD patients vary, cells from all PBD patients exhibit a defect in the import of one or more classes of peroxisomal matrix proteins into the organelle. Defects in this gene are a cause of neonatal adrenoleukodystrophy (NALD), a cause of Zellweger syndrome (ZWS) as well as may be a cause of infantile Refsum disease (IRD). Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified. Storage Buffer: PBS with 0.1% Sodium Azide, 50% Glycerol, pH 7.3. -20 degree C, Avoid freeze / thaw cycles.
Santa Cruz Alternative: Potential replacement for Santa Cruz Biotechnology antibody catalog# sc-23188 / sc-23190. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing PEX5 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as PEX5 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. PEX5 also interacts with the following gene(s): PEX10, PEX12, PEX13, PEX14, PEX6, PEX7.
