The PECAM1 pecam1 (Catalog #MBS125831) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CD31 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s CD31 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS).Western Blot (WB): 1:500-1: 2000
Immunohistochemistry (IHC): 1:50-1: 200
Immunoprecipitation (IP): 1:20-1: 50
Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS): 1:20-1: 50. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PECAM1 pecam1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The PECAM1 pecam1 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #313760624) (NCBI Accession #NP_000433.4) (Uniprot Accession #P16284). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the CD31 Polyclonal Antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (Western blot analysis of extracts of mouse liver, using PECAM1 antibody at 1:3000 dilution.
Secondary antibody: HRP Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L) (MBS128200) at 1:10000 dilution.
Lysates/proteins: 25ug per lane.
Blocking buffer: 3% nonfat dry milk in TBST.
Detection: ECL Basic Kit.
Exposure time: 10s.)
CD31 (Platelet Endothelial Cell Adhesion Molecule-1: PECAM-1), a member of the Ig superfamily of cell adhesion molecules, is expressed by circulating platelets, monocytes, neutrophils, some T cells and endothelial cells, and modulates cell adhesion, endothelial cell migration and angiogenesis (1). CD31 is phosphorylated on Tyr686 at the cytoplasmic carboxy-terminal tail upon various stimuli (e.g. mechanical stress or oxidative stress), presumably by Src family members (2). The tyrosine phosphorylation mediates associations with a number of SH2 domain containing binding partners such as PI3-kinase, SHIP, PLCgamma and SHP-2. Thus, CD31 serves as a scaffold for various signaling molecules (3).
Immunogen: Recombinant protein of human CD31. Buffer: PBS with 0.02% sodium azide, 50% glycerol, pH7.3. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing PECAM1 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as PECAM1 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. Blood, Bone Marrow, Brain, Heart, Kidney, Liver, Lung, Muscle, Umbilical Cord, Vascular tissues are correlated with this protein.
