The NRXN1 nrxn1 (Catalog #MBS224145) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The GOAT ANTI HUMAN NEUREXIN 1 (C-TERMINAL) reacts with Dog (Expected from Sequence), Mouse (Expected from Sequence), Rat (Expected from Sequence) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s NEUREXIN 1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB).Western Blot: This item detects a band of approximately 150kDa in human cerebellum cell lysates
ELISA: Maximum Dilution: 1/32000
Western Blotting: Minimum Dilution: 0.05; Maximum Dilution: 0.1ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NRXN1 nrxn1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The NRXN1 nrxn1 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #208609951) (NCBI Accession #NP_001129131.1) (Uniprot Accession #Q9ULB1). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

MBS224145 specifically recognises an epitope within the C-terminal (CT) region of human Neurexin 1 (NRXN1), a transmembrane neuronal protein and member of the neurexin family, which act as cell adhesion molecules and receptors within the vertebrate nervous system. NRXN1 exists in many distinct isoforms, the majority of which encode the longer alpha-neurexins generated using an upstream promoter, whilst fewer encode the shorter beta-neurexins, generated using a downstream promoter. Alpha-neurexins have been shown to bind with high affinity to the neuronal protein neurexophilin, whilst neuroligin 1, enriched in synaptic plasma membranes, has been identified as a splice site-specific ligand for beta-neurexins.
Perservative Stabilisers: 0.02% Sodium Azide (NaN3)
0.5% Bovine Serum Albumin. Immunogen: Peptide sequence C-KEKQPSSAKSSNKN from the C-Terminal region of NRXN1 (NP_004792.1; NP_620072.1).
Buffer Solution: TRIS buffered saline
Antiserum Preparation: Antiserum to human NRXN1 (CT) was raised by repeated immunisation of goats with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared by affinity chromatography.
Target Species: Human. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing NRXN1 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as NRXN1 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. Brain, Embryonic Tissue, Eye, Liver, Lung, Muscle, Nerve, Skin, Testis, Vascular tissues are correlated with this protein. Abnormalities, Multiple, Autistic Disorder, Brain Diseases, Child Development Disorders, Pervasive, Cognition Disorders, Disease Models, Animal, Intellectual Disability, Language Development Disorders, Learning Disorders, Schizophrenia are some of the diseases may be linked to GOAT ANTI HUMAN NEUREXIN 1 (C-TERMINAL).
