|The NRGN nrgn (Catalog #MBS421791) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Goat anti-Neurogranin precursor Antibody reacts with Tested: Human, Mouse, Rat; Expected from sequence similarity: Human, Mouse, Dog, Cow and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s Neurogranin precursor can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Peptide ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC).
Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 8000.
Immunohistochemistry: In paraffin embedded Human Brain (Cortex) shows cytoplasm staining in the neuronal cell bodies Recommended concentration, 4-6ug/ml.
Western Blot: Approx 15kDa band observed in Human Brain (Cerebral Cortex, Cerebellum and Hippocampus), and in Mouse and Rat Brain lysates (calculated MW of 7.6kDa according to NP_006167.1). There is also an additional 16kDa band. The observed molecular weights correspond to earlier findings in literature with different antibodies (Li et al, J Biol Chem.1999 Jan 15;274(3): 1294-300; PMID: 9880498). Recommended concentration: 0.1-0.3ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NRGN nrgn for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The NRGN nrgn product has the following accession number(s) (GI #5453800) (NCBI Accession #NP_006167.1). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful. The amino acid sequence is listed below:

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the Goat anti-Neurogranin precursor Antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) ((2ug/ml) staining of Human Cerebellum (A) and Rat Brain (B) lysates (35ug protein in RIPA buffer). Primary incubation was 1 hour. Detected by chemiluminescence)
Western Blot (WB) ((0.1ug/ml) staining of Mouse Brain lysate (35ug protein in RIPA buffer). Primary incubation was 1 hour. Detected by chemiluminescence.)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) ((3.8ug/ml) staining of paraffin embedded Human Cortex. Steamed antigen retrieval with citrate buffer pH 6, AP-staining.)
Immunogen: Peptide with sequence C-KIKSGERGRKG, from the internal region of the protein sequence according to NP_006167.1.
Epitope: Internal region. Note: Reported variants represent identical protein: NP_006167.1, NP_001119653.1. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing NRGN are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as NRGN may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
