The NANS nans (Catalog #MBS200219) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The NANS antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s NANS can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunofluorescence (IF).WB: 1:1,000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NANS nans for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The NANS nans product has the following accession number(s) (GI #12056473) (NCBI Accession #NP_061819) (Uniprot Accession #Q9NR45). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the NANS antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (The cell lysates (40ug) were resolved by SDS-PAGE, transferred to PVDF membrane and probed with anti-human NANS antibody (1:1000). Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-mouse secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and an ECL detection system. Lane 1.: HeLa cell lysate Lane 2.: HepG2 cell lysate The cell lysates (10ug) were resolved by SDS-PAGE, transferred to PVDF membrane and probed with anti-human NANS antibody (1:1000). Immunofluorescence (IF)
NANS (Sialic acids synthease) is an enzyme that functions in the biosynthetic pathways of sialic acids. Expressed ubiquitously, NANS enzymatically catalyzes the H2O-dependent formation of N-acetylneuraminic acid (Neu5Ac) and 2-keto-3-deoxy-D-glycero-D-galacto-nononic acid (KDN), both of which are sialic acids. NANS uses N-acetylmannosamine 6-phosphate as a substrate for Neu5Ac synthesis and mannose 6-phosphate as a substrate for KDN synthesis.
Antigen Species: Human
Immunogen: Recombinant human NANS (1-359aa) purified from E. coli. Clone Note: Anti-human NANS mAb, clone AT1G6, is derived from hybridization of mouse F0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from BALB/c mice immunized with a recombinant human NANS protein. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing NANS are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as NANS may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
