Biological Significance: Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) is a pathogenic bacterial species in the genus Mycobacterium and the causative agent of most cases of tuberculosis. The physiology of M. tuberculosis is highly aerobic and requires high levels of oxygen. It does not retain any bacteriological stain due to high lipid content in its wall, and thus is neither Gram positive nor Gram negative. Biohazard Information: This product contains sodium azide as preservative. Although the amount of sodium azide is very small appropriate care must be taken when handling this product.
Immunogen: Mycobacterium tuberculosis RV2623 antibody was raised in mouse using M. tuberculosis RV2623 recombinant protein of dormancy regulon as the immunogen.
