The L1CAM l1cam (Catalog #MBS850793) is an Antibody and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The L1CAM Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s L1CAM can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB).ELISA: 1:5000-1:20000
WB: 1:100-1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the L1CAM l1cam for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The L1CAM l1cam product has the following accession number(s) (GI #4557707) (NCBI Accession #NP_000416.1) (Uniprot Accession #P32004). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the L1CAM Antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Testing Data (L1CAM antibody at 1/2000 dilution interacts with recombinant L1CAM protein with a DsbA tag. Predicted band size: 53KDa. Observed band size: 53KDa.)
The L1CAM gene, which is located in Xq28, is involved in three distinct conditions: 1) HSAS (hydrocephalus-stenosis of the aqueduct of Sylvius); 2) MASA (mental retardation, aphasia, shuffling gait, adductus thumbs); and 3) SPG1 (spastic paraplegia). The L1, neural cell adhesion molecule (L1CAM) also plays an important role in axon growth, fasciculation, neural migration and in mediating neuronal differentiation.
Immunogen: Recombinant fragment of Human L1CAM (N-terminus).
Preservative: 0.02% Sodium Azide and 50% glycerol, 1% BSA, PBS, pH7.4.
Cellular Localization: Plasma membrane. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing L1CAM are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as L1CAM may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. Brain, Embryonic Tissue, Eye, Ganglia, Kidney, Liver, Lung, Muscle, Nerve, Skin tissues are correlated with this protein. L1CAM also interacts with the following gene(s): ANK2, CNTN1, CNTN2, NCAM1, NCAN, NUMB. Adenocarcinoma, Aphasia, Brain Diseases, Cardiovascular Diseases, Drug Toxicity, Hirschsprung Disease, Learning Disorders, Neoplasms, Nervous System Diseases, Ovarian Neoplasms are some of the diseases may be linked to L1CAM Antibody.
