The KIF2C kif2c (Catalog #MBS120222) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Mouse monoclonal antibody Anti-Human KIF2C reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s KIF2C can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Dot Blot (DB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Western Blot (WB), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the KIF2C kif2c for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The KIF2C kif2c product has the following accession number(s) (GI #166795249) (NCBI Accession #NP_006836.2). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the Mouse monoclonal antibody Anti-Human KIF2C with the following immunoassay(s):
Quality Control (Western blot analysis of immunized recombinant protein, using anti-KIF2C monoclonal antibody.)
Quality Control #2 (Arrow indicates the region of immunized recombinant protein carrying 50-200 amino acids.)
Western Blot (WB) (Detection of human KIF2C by Western blot.
Samples: Whole cell lysate (25 ug) from HeLa cells. [Lot No. 2488C3a-1]
Predicted molecular weight: 81 kDa)
Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS) (HeLa cells were fixed in 2% paraformaldehyde/PBS and then permeabilized in 90% methanol. Cells were stained with anti-KIF2C mAb (shaded) or isotype control (unshaded) followed by Alexa Fluor(R) 488-conjugated goat anti-mouse IgG. [Lot No. 2488C3a-1])
Immunocytochemistry (ICC) (Immunostaining analysis in HeLa cells. HeLa cells were fixed with 4% paraformaldehyde and permeabilized with 0.1% Triton X-100 in PBS. The cells were immunostained with anti-KIF2C mAb. Nuclear was stained with Hoechst (blue fluorescence).[Lot No. 2488C3a-1])
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of kinesin-like protein family. Proteins of this family are microtubule-dependent molecular motors that transport organelles within cells and move chromosomes during cell division. This protein is important for anaphase chromosome segregation and may be required to coordinate the onset of sister centromere separation. [NCBI Entrez Gene Summary].
Preparation: This antibody was purified using protein G column chromatography from culture supernatant of hybridoma cultured in a medium containing bovine IgG-depleted (approximately 95%) fetal bovine serum. Sterility: Filtered through a 0.22 um membrane. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing KIF2C are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as KIF2C may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
