|The IFNG ifng (Catalog #MBS220076) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. MyBioSource\'s IFN GAMMA can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Functional Assays (FN), Western Blot (WB).
Western Blot: This item detects a band of approximately 18 kDa. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IFNG ifng for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The IFNG ifng product has the following accession number(s) (GI #45433518) (NCBI Accession #NP_990480.1) (Uniprot Accession #P49708). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

MBS220076 recognizes chicken Interferon gamma (chIFN-gamma). Original studies investigating the properties of chicken Interferon (chIFN), revealed properties similar to mammalian IFN type I (IFNI), and it has since become apparent that there are at least three distinct chicken interferon proteins, designated as chIFN-alpha, chIFN-beta and chIFN-gamma. chIFN-gamma was first identified, when supernatant from chicken spleen cells stimulated with concanavalin A (ConA), displayed macrophage-activating factor (MAF) activity - the principle function of mammalian type II IFN-gamma. Several independent studies have since supported the existence of this chicken homolog, by the cloning of IFN-gamma cDNA from activated chicken T cells and demonstrating that recombinant chicken IFN-gamma strongly upregulates the expression of MHC class II and iNOS genes. MBS220076, can be used to neutralize chIFN-gamma activity and to discriminate the antiviral activity of chIFN-gamma from that of chIFN-alpha and chIFN-beta, see Weining, K.C. et al. for details.
Immunogen: Recombinant chicken Interferon Gamma
Buffer Solution: Phosphate buffered saline
Antiserum Preparation: Antisera to chicken Interferon Gamma were raised by repeated immunisations of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared by affinity chromatography on protein G.
Target Species: Chicken. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing IFNG are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as IFNG may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. Arthritis, Rheumatoid, Autoimmune Diseases, Diabetes Mellitus, Type 1, HIV Infections, Hepatitis, Hepatitis C, Leishmaniasis, Lymphoproliferative Disorders, Necrosis, Respiratory Tract Diseases are some of the diseases may be linked to RABBIT ANTI CHICKEN INTERFERON GAMMA:Preservative Free.
