The HTR1A htr1a (Catalog #MBS631575) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Serotonin Receptor 1A reacts with Human, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s Serotonin Receptor 1A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC).Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry.
Dilution: Western Blot: 0.5ug/ml detects Serotonin Receptor 1A on 10ug of rat brain tissue lysate. Band is observed at ~40kD. Calculated MW is 46kD.
Immunohistochemistry: 1:400 detects Serotonin Receptor 1A in normal human brain tissue. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the HTR1A htr1a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The HTR1A htr1a product has the following accession number(s) (GI #27461808) (Uniprot Accession #Q6XXX9). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the Serotonin Receptor 1A with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (Western Blot: Rat brain tissue lysate was probed with MBS631575 at 0.5ug/ml. Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-mouse IgM secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and a chemiluminescence detection system. Arrow indicates Serotonin Receptor 1A (~40kD).)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Immunohistochemistry Analysis: Paraffin-embedded normal human brain tissue was prepared using heat-induced epitope retrieval in citrate buffer, pH 6.0. Immunostaining was performed using a 1:400 dilution of MBS631575 Reactivity was detected using the a detection kit. Staining pattern appears as cytoplasmic.)
Serotonin Receptor 1A, also known as 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 1A, is a member of the G protein-coupled receptor family. Serotonin Receptor 1A has been found to be expressed highly in the septum and hippocampus. Serotonin Receptor 1A seems to have an inhibitory effect on Ca2+ channels, via N-channels and L-channels. The receptor actuates voltage-sensitive slowing using the N-channels and actuates steady state inhibition using the L-channels.
Immunogen: Linear peptide corresponding to rat Serotonin Receptor 1A, conjugated to KLH (NP_036717). Positive Control: Rat brain tissue lysate. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing HTR1A are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as HTR1A may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
