The GLRA3 glra3 (Catalog #MBS621830) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Glycine Receptor alpha 3 subunit (GLRA3, ligand gated ion channel, glycine receptor, alpha-3 polypeptide, glycine receptor, alpha 3) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s Glycine Receptor alpha 3 subunit can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC).Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry.
Dilution: Western Blot: 0.1ug/ml detected glycine receptor alpha 3 subunit on 10ug of fetal human brain tissue lysate.
Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 1:100-1:500 detected Glycine Receptor alpha 3 subunit in mouse spinal cord and mouse eye tissue.
Western Blot: 0.1ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GLRA3 glra3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The GLRA3 glra3 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #110347441) (NCBI Accession #NP_006520.2) (Uniprot Accession #O75311). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the Glycine Receptor alpha 3 subunit (GLRA3, ligand gated ion channel, glycine receptor, alpha-3 polypeptide, glycine receptor, alpha 3) with the following immunoassay(s):
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (IHC Analysis: Representative staining pattern on formalin-fixed, paraffin- embedded mouse spinal cord. Tissue was pretreated with citrate, pH 6.0 using antigen retrieval techniques. MBS621830 diluted to 1:100-500.)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (IHC Analysis: Representative staining pattern on formalin-fixed, paraffin- embedded mouse eye. Tissue pretreated with citrate, pH 6.0 using antigen retrieval techniques. MBS621830 diluted to 1:100-1:300.)
Western Blot (WB) (Western Blot Analysis: Fetal human brain lysate was resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to PVDF and probed with MBS621830. Proteins were visualized using IgG (HRP) Pab donkey x rabbit secondary antibody and a chemiluminescence detection system. Arrow indicates Glycine Receptor a3 subunit (48kD).)
Glycine receptor a3 subunit, also known as GLRA3, belongs to the ligand-gated ion channel family. Glycine functions as an inhibitory neurotransmitter throughout the CNS of mammals. The Glycine receptor is a neurotransmitter ligand-gated ion channel. GLRA3 is a pentamer that is composed of ligand binding alpha and structural beta subunits. When glycine binds to the receptor, chloride conductance increases which produces hyperpolarization. It is expressed in the hippocampus, olfactory bulb, and cerebellum. GLRA3 may be involved in human and murine neurological disorders.
Immunogen: Synthetic peptide from the C-terminus of human GLRA3, conjugated to KLH (Accession #NP_006520.2).
Cellular Localization: Cell junction, synapse, postsynaptic cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein.
Species Sequence Homology: Rat 92%
Cross Reactivity: Mouse.
