The fragment of Actin n/a (Catalog #MBS502149) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Fractin reacts with Human, rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s Fractin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC).Quality Control: Western blots performed on each lot.
WB: 1:1,000
IHC: 1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the fragment of Actin n/a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the Anti-Fractin with the following immunoassay(s):
Testing Data
Rabbit polyclonal antibody.
Antigen: Synthetic peptide taken from the C terminus of the 32-kDa actin fragment.
Immunogen Information: Synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acid residues from the C terminal region of the 32-kDa actin fragment
Immunogen Species: Human. Species Reactivity Note: The antibody has been directly tested for reactivity in human and rat.
Biological Significance: Fractin (fragment of actin) is a caspase-specific cleavage product of actin and serves as a novel marker of apoptosis-related events. The antibody has been shown to detect the processes and cell bodies of degenerating neurons and plaque-associated microglia in Alzheimer\'s disease (Yang et al., 1998). It has recently been reported that Fractin may have a functional role in apoptotic signaling in oligodendrocytes (Schulz, R., et al., Glia, 2009, in press). In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing fragment of Actin are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as fragment of Actin may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
