The FOS fos (Catalog #MBS120204) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Mouse monoclonal antibody Anti-Human FOS reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s FOS can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Dot Blot (DB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FOS fos for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The FOS fos product has the following accession number(s) (GI #33872858) (NCBI Accession #BC004490). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the Mouse monoclonal antibody Anti-Human FOS with the following immunoassay(s):
Quality Control (Western blot analysis of immunized recombinant protein, using anti-FOS monoclonal antibody.)
Quality Control #2 (Arrow indicates the region of immunized recombinant protein carrying 50-200 amino acids.)
Immunocytochemistry (ICC) (Immunostaining analysis in HeLa cells. HeLa cells were fixed with 4% paraformaldehyde and permeabilized with 0.1% Triton X-100 in PBS. The cells were immunostained with anti-FOS mAb. [Lot No. 554C1a-1] )
The Fos gene family consists of 4 members: FOS, FOSB, FOSL1, and FOSL2. These genes encode leucine zipper proteins that can dimerize with proteins of the JUN family, thereby forming the transcription factor complex AP-1. As such, the FOS proteins have been implicated as regulators of cell proliferation, differentiation, and transformation. In some cases, expression of the FOS gene has also been associated with apoptotic cell death. [NCBI Entrez Gene Summary].
Preparation: This antibody was purified using protein G column chromatography from culture supernatant of hybridoma cultured in a medium containing bovine IgG-depleted (approximately 95%) fetal bovine serum. Sterility: Filtered through a 0.22 um membrane. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing FOS are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as FOS may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. FOS also interacts with the following gene(s): CREB1, CREM, ELK1, JUN, JUNB, JUND, MAPK1, MAPK8, PTGS2, SRF.
