Rat monoclonal FOP antibody.
Biological Significance: FOP is a novel chromatin target of protein arginine methyltransferases. Human Fop is encoded by C1orf77, a gene of previously unknown function. Fop is tightly associated with chromatin, and is modified by both asymmetric and symmetric arginine methylation in vivo. Furthermore, Fop plays an important role in the ligand-dependent activation of estrogen receptor target genes, including TFF1 (pS2). Biohazard Information: This product contains sodium azide which is hazardous
Immunogen: FOP antibody was raised in Rat using Mouse Friend of Prmt1 C-terminus and GST fusion protein as the immunogen. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing FOP are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as FOP may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
