The FEN1 fen1 (Catalog #MBS221739) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The RABBIT ANTI HUMAN FEN1 reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s FEN1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunoprecipitation (IP), Western Blot (WB).Western Blot: This item detects a band of approximately 42kD in HeLa cell lysates.
Immunoprecipitation: Minimum Dilution: 4ug/mg protein; Maximum Dilution: 10ug/mg protein
Western Blotting: Minimum Dilution: 1/5000; Maximum Dilution: 1/30000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FEN1 fen1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The FEN1 fen1 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #4758356) (NCBI Accession #NP_004102.1) (Uniprot Accession #P39748). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the RABBIT ANTI HUMAN FEN1 with the following immunoassay(s):
Testing Data #1 (Detection of human Fen1 in whole cell lysates of HeLa and 293T cells (5-50 mcg/lane) by Western blotting with Rabbit anti Human Fen1 (MBS221739). Immunoprecipitation was with MBS221739 (3mcg/mg lysate) or another anti Fen1 polyclonal antibody, subsequent detection of immunoprecipitated Fen1 by Western blotting used MBS221739)
Rabbit anti Human FEN1 antibody recognizes human Flap endonuclease 1 also known as Flap structure-specific endonuclease, FEN1, Maturation factor 1 or DNase IV. FEN1 is a 380 amino acid ~45kDa member of the FEN1 sub family of XPG/RAD2 endonucleases which has an important role in lagging strand DNA synthesis and base excision repair (Kim et al. 1998). It is hypothesised that FEN1 may play a role in the inhibltion of triplet repeat expansion (Vallur and Maizels 2010). Two isoforms of FEN1 are generated by alternative initiation, isoform 1 against which rabbit anti human FEN1 antibody is generated and a truncated isoform FENMIT, lacking the N-terminal region and having a mitochondrial distribution, FENMIT also lacks DNAase activity (Kazak et al. 2013). Initial results suggest that rabbit anti human FEN1 antibody does not recognize the truncated form of human FEN1. Fen1 is expressed in the nucleus of a wide variety of organ strusctures notably in those of the hematopoietic system including spleen, lymph nodes and spleen. Rabbit anti human FEN1 antibody recognizes a band of ~45kDa in whole cell lysates of HeLa and 293T by western blotting and has successfully been used for immunoprecipitation of FEN1 from HeLa cell lysates.
Perservative Stabilisers: 0.1% Sodium Azide (NaN3). Buffer Solution: TRIS-citrate/Phosphate buffered saline
Antiserum Preparation: Antisera to human FEN1 were raised by repeated immunisation of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG prepared by affinity chromatography.
Target Species: Human.
