Testing Data
The extracellular signal-regulated kinases (ERK1/2) are also known as MAPK (Mitogen-activated protein kinases) are a widely conserved family of serine/threonine protein kinases involved in many cellular programs such as cell proliferation, differentiation, motility, and death. The p44/42 MAPK (ERK1/2) signaling pathway can be activated in response to a diverse range of extracellular stimuli including mitogens, growth factors, and cytokines and is an important target in the identification and treatment of cancer. The phosphorylation of MAPK at Thr202 and Tyr 204 are correlated to the progression and metastatic potential of tumor cells.
Antigen Preparation: A synthetic peptide derived from internal sequence of ERK1/2 protein from human, rat, mouse and dog origins. Positive Control: 3T3 cells
Cellular Location: Cytoplasmic. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing ERK1/2 (P44-MAPK) are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as ERK1/2 (P44-MAPK) may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. Bone, Brain, Connective Tissue, Ear, Embryonic Tissue, Heart, Kidney, Muscle, Umbilical Cord, Vascular tissues are correlated with this protein. ERK1/2 (P44-MAPK) also interacts with the following gene(s): FLNA. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene.
