Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the ErbB-2 + HER-2 + Neu antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) ()
Rabbit monoclonal ErbB-2 + HER-2 + Neu antibody.
Biological Significance: HER2 gene encodes a transmembrane glycoprotein with tyrosine kinase activity. It is closely related in structure to the epidermal growth factor receptor c-erbB-3/HER3/neu oncoprotein. The protein is detectable in a subset of breast and other carcinomas (urinary bladder, stomach, lung, endometrium and ovary). In the case of breast cancer, over expression determined by immunohistochemistry has been shown to be associated with poor prognosis and an indication to initiate trastuzumab/herceptin therapy. Biohazard Information: This product contains sodium azide as preservative. Although the amount of sodium azide is very small appropriate care must be taken when handling.
Immunogen: ErbB-2/HER-2/Neu antibody was raised in rabbit using recombinant protein encoding extracellular domain of human c-erbB2 as the immunogen. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing ErbB-2 - HER-2 - Neu are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as ErbB-2 - HER-2 - Neu may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
