The EphA2 epha2 (Catalog #MBS200110) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The EphA2 antibody reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s EphA2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC).
Recommended dilution range for Western blot is 1:500 ~ 1:2,000 and immunohistochemistry analysis is 1:100~200.
Recommended starting dilution for Western blot is 1:500 and Immunohistochemistry is 1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the EphA2 epha2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.

The EphA2 epha2 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #32967311) (NCBI Accession #NP_004422) (Uniprot Accession #P29317). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the EphA2 antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (The cell lysates (10ug) were resolved by SDS-PAGE, transferred to PVDF membrane and probed with anti-human EphA2 antibody (1:1000). Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-mouse secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and an ECL detection system. Lane 1.: 293T cell lysate Lane 2.: EphA2 extracellular domain transfected 293T cell lysate Lane 3.: EphA2 cytoplasmic domain transfected 293T cell lysate)
Western Blot (WB) EphA2.

Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Paraffin embedded sections of human colon and gastric cancer tissue were incubated with anti-human EphA2 (1:100) for 2 hours at room temperature. Antigen retrieval was performed in 0.1M sodium citrate buffer and detected using Diaminobenzidine (DAB))
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) EphA2.

The Eph family of receptors is the largest known subfamily of receptor tyrosine kinases (RTk). Eph RTks and their ligands, the ephrins, are frequently overexpressed in a variety of cancers and tumor cell lines. One Eph family member, EphA2, is also overexpressed in a wide variety of cancers, including breast, small-cell lung and gastrointestinal cancers, melanomas, and neuroblastomas. The ephrin-Eph interactions are important in development, especially in cell-cell interactions involved in nervous system patterning and possibly in cancer.

Antigen Species: Human
Immunogen: Recombinant human EphA2 (559-976aa) purified from E. coli. Clone Note: Anti-human EphA2 mAb, clone 3D7, is derived from hybridization of mouse F0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from BALB/c mice immunized with a recombinant human EphA2 protein. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing EphA2 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as EphA2 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
