The EMD emd (Catalog #MBS150246) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Emerin Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s Emerin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF).
Emerin antibody can be used for detection of Emerin by Western blot at 0.5 - 1 mug/mL. Antibody can also be used for immunohistochemistry starting at 2.5 mug/mL. For immunofluorescence start at 10 mug/mL. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the EMD emd for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.

The EMD emd product has the following accession number(s) (GI #4557553) (NCBI Accession #NP_000108) (Uniprot Accession #P50402). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the Emerin Antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (Western blot analysis of Emerin in human skeletal muscle tissue lysate with Emerin antibody at (A) 0.5 and (B) 1 μg/mL.)
Western Blot (WB) EMD.

Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Immunohistochemistry of emerin in human skeletal muscle tissue with emerin antibody at 2.5 μg/mL.)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) EMD.

Immunofluorescence (IF) (Immunofluorescence of Emerin in Human Skeletal Muscle cells with Emerin antibody at 5 μg/mL.)
Immunofluorescence (IF) EMD.

Emerin Antibody: Emerin is a serine-rich nuclear membrane protein and a member of the nuclear lamina-associated protein family that includes proteins such as LAP2 and MAN1. Each family member, including Emerin, has an ~40 amino acid LEM-domains that binds barrier-to-autointegration (BANF1), a conserved chromatin protein that also serves as a host cell component of retroviral integration complexes, including that of HIV. Emerin is anchored at the inner membrane of the nuclear envelope where it binds to nuclear intermediate filaments that are formed by lamin proteins. Dreifuss-Emery muscular dystrophy is an X-linked inherited degenerative myopathy resulting from mutation in the emerin gene.

Conjugate: Unconjugated
Immunogen: Emerin antibody was raised against a 19 amino acid synthetic peptide from near the amino terminus of human Emerin.
Buffer: Emerin Antibody is supplied in PBS containing 0.02% sodium azide. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing EMD are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as EMD may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
