|The EGFR c-erbb proto-oncogene (Catalog #MBS530440) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The phospho EGFR antibody reacts with Dog, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s EGFR can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Western Blot (WB).
ELISA: 0.05 ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the EGFR c-erbb proto-oncogene for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The EGFR c-erbb proto-oncogene product has the following accession number(s) (GI #8815559) (NCBI Accession #AAB19486.2). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the phospho EGFR antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (Untreated A431 and EGF treated A431 lysate were resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to PVDF membrane and probed with anti-phospho-EGF Receptor (1:500 dilution). Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-mouse secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and a chemiluminescence detection system. Arrow indicates phospho-EGF protein (~175 kDa).)
Mouse monoclonal phospho EGFR antibody.
Biological Significance: The epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR; ErbB-1; HER1 in humans) is the cell-surface receptor for members of the epidermal growth factor family (EGF-family) of extracellular protein ligands. EGFR (epidermal growth factor receptor) exists on the cell surface and is activated by binding of its specific ligands, including epidermal growth factor and transforming growth factor alpha (TGF alpha). EGFR dimerization stimulates its intrinsic intracellular protein-tyrosine kinase activity. Biohazard Information: This product contains sodium azide as preservative. Although the amount of sodium azide is very small appropriate care must be taken when handling.
Immunogen: Phospho EGFR antibody was raised in mouse using a sythetic peptide conjugated to KLH with contains the Y1173 motif of the human EGFR as the immunogen. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing EGFR are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as EGFR may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
