The DDC ddc (Catalog #MBS609374) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Aromatic L-Amino Acid Decarboxylase, DOPA Decarboxylase, DDC reacts with Bovine, Canine, Guinea Pig, Human, Monkey, Rabbit, Rat, Sheep and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s Aromatic L-Amino Acid Decarboxylase, DOPA Decarboxylase, DDC can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB).Suitable for use in Western Blot and ELISA.
Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000-1:5000 (ECL) (~50kD band)
ELISA: 1:10,000-1:50,000 using 1ug/ml control peptide per well. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the DDC ddc for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The DDC ddc product has the following accession number(s) (GI #257538) (Uniprot Accession #P20711). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

DDC (EC 1.1.128) belongs to the family group II Decarboxylase (DDC, GAD, HDC and TYRD). DDC catalyzes the formation of tryptamine from L-tyrosine. It also acts on 5-hydroxy-LO-tryptophan and dihydroxy-L-Phenylalanine (DOPA). Human DDC (480 aa, chromosome 7p11) is a homodimer in the native state. It requires pyridoxal phosphate as a cofactor.
Immunogen: A 16 amino acid peptide sequence near the NH2-terminus of human DDC coupled to KLH. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing DDC are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as DDC may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. Blood, Brain, Eye, Intestine, Kidney, Liver, Lung, Nerve, Pancreas, Prostate tissues are correlated with this protein. Carcinoma, Central Nervous System Diseases, Drug Toxicity, Leukemia, Liver Diseases, Mental Disorders, Necrosis, Neoplasms, Neurodegenerative Diseases, Pain are some of the diseases may be linked to Aromatic L-Amino Acid Decarboxylase, DOPA Decarboxylase, DDC.
