MBS212889 detects the protozoa Cryptosporidium parvum, an obligate intracellular parasite of the phylum Apicomplexa. The genome of C. parvum is one of the smallest among unicellular eukaryotic organisms. C. parvum is one of several species that cause cryptosporidiosis; a disease affecting the intestines of mammals and is spread through the fecal-oral route. The main symptom is self-limiting diarrhea in people with intact immune systems. However, in immunocompromised individuals, such as AIDS patients, infection can cause permanent & life-threatening diarrhea. Cryptosporidiosis is one of the most common waterborne diseases worldwide.
Perservative Stabilisers: 0.1% Sodium Azide (NaN3)

Histology Positive Control Tissue: Intact oocysts of C.parvum.
Buffer Solution: Phosphate buffered saline
Target Species: Protozoan. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing CRYPTOSPORIDIUM PARVUM are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as CRYPTOSPORIDIUM PARVUM may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
