The CRYAA cryaa (Catalog #MBS200007) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The A crystallin An antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s A crystallin A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), FACS.Since applications varies, however, each investigation should be titrated by reagent to obtain optimal results. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CRYAA cryaa for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The CRYAA cryaa product has the following accession number(s) (GI #4503055) (NCBI Accession #NP_000385) (Uniprot Accession #P02489). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the A crystallin An antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (The recombinant proteins and tissue lysate were resolved by SDS-PAGE, transferred to PVDF membrane and probed with anti-human Crystallin alpha An antibody (1:1000). Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-mouse secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and an ECL detection system. This antibody is not shown cross-activity about Crystallin alpha B.
A : Recombinant human Crystallin alpha A protein
B : Recombinant human Crystallin alpha B protein
C : Mouse eye tissue lysate)
Western Blot (WB) (The cell lysates (5ug) were resolved by SDS-PAGE, transferred to PVDF membrane and probed with anti-human Crystallin alpha An antibody (1:3000). Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-mouse secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and an ECL detection system.
Lane 1.: 293T cell lysate
Lane 2.: Crystallin alpha A Transfected 293T cell lysate)
Flow Cytommetry (FC) (Flow cytometry analysis of Crystallin alpha An in Balb/3T3 cell line, staining at 2-5ug for 1x10^6cells (red line). The secondary antibody used goat anti-mouse IgG Alexa fluor 488 conjugate. Isotype control antibody was mouse IgG (black line).)
alpha-crystallins, a major protein of the ocular lens, are thought to play a role in maintaining lens transparency, which are composed of two gene products alpha-An and alpha-B, for acidic and basic, respectively. alpha-crystallins can be induced by heat shock and are members of the small heat shock protein (sHSP). They act as molecular chaperones and hold unfolded or misfolded proteins in large, water-soluble low molecular weight aggregates. These heterogeneous aggregates consist of 30-40 subunits of the alpha-An and alpha-B subunits have a 3:1 ratio, respectively. Two additional function of alpha-crystallins are an autokinase activity and the participation in the intracellular architecture.
Immunogen: Recombinant human Crystallin alpha A (1-173aa) purified from E. coli.
