Mouse monoclonal Collagen Type IV antibody.
Biological Significance: Type-IV collagen is a type of collagen found primarily in the basal lamina. The C-terminus domain is not removed in post-translational processing, and the fibers link head-to-head, rather than in parallel. Also, type-IV lacks the regular glycine in every third residue necessary for the tight, collagen helix. This makes the overall arrangement more sloppy with kinks. These two features cause the collagen to form in a sheet, the form of the basal lamina. Cross-Reactivity: Human Specific
Biohazard Information: This product contains sodium azide as preservative. Although the amount of sodium azide is very small appropriate care must be taken when handling this product.
Immunogen: Collagen type IV antibody was raised in mouse using human placental type IV collagen as the immunogen. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing COL4A3BP are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as COL4A3BP may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. Acute Kidney Injury, Breast Neoplasms, Congenital Abnormalities, Edema, Heart Defects, Congenital, Kidney Diseases, Liver Diseases, Necrosis, Nervous System Diseases, Neurobehavioral Manifestations are some of the diseases may be linked to Collagen Type IV antibody. Blood, Brain, Eye, Heart, Kidney, Liver, Lung, Muscle, Nerve, Ovary tissues are correlated with this protein.
