The COL1A1 col1a1 (Catalog #MBS534682) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Collagen Type I antibody reacts with Bovine, Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s Collagen Type I can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western Blot (WB).ELISA: 1:5000-1:50000
FLISA&IP: 1:100<>br>IHC: 1:50-1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the COL1A1 col1a1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The COL1A1 col1a1 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #119615037) (NCBI Accession #EAW94631.1) (Uniprot Accession #P02452). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the Collagen Type I antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (Western Blot analysis using Collagen Type I antibody
Western blot using purified Collagen I antibody to detect expression of collagen I in Wistar rat hepatic stellate cells (HSC) in control (GFP-transduced) (left lane) and PPARg-transduced cell lysates (right lane).)
Affinity purified Rabbit polyclonal Collagen Type I antibody.
Biological Significance: Collagen is a group of naturally occurring proteins found, in nature, exclusively in animals, especially in the flesh and connective tissues of mammals. It is the main component of connective tissue, and is the most abundant protein in mammals, making up about 25% to 35% of the whole-body protein content. Type-I collagen is the most abundant collagen of the human body. It is present in scar tissue, the end product when tissue heals by repair. It is found in tendons, the endomysium of myofibrils and the organic part of bone.
Bioactivity: Some class-specific anti-collagens may be specific for three-dimensional epitopes which may result in diminished reactivity with denatured collagen or formalin-fixed, paraffin embedded tissues. Biohazard Information: This product contains sodium azide as preservative. Although the amount of sodium azide is very small appropriate care must be taken when handling this product.
Immunogen: Placenta collagen Type I from human and Bovine. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing COL1A1 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as COL1A1 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
