The CEA ceacam6 (Catalog #MBS530175) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. MyBioSource\'s CEA can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA).We recommend using this CEA clone as the solid phase, matched with the goat anti CEA - HRP (MBS534335). Optimal conditions to be determined by end user. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CEA ceacam6 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The CEA ceacam6 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #553222) (NCBI Accession #AAA51971.1). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Mouse monoclonal CEA antibody.
Immunogen: Purified natural CEA
Cross Reactivity: CEA 100%
Biological Significance: Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) is a glycoprotein involved in cell adhesion. It is normally produced during fetal development, but the production of CEA stops before birth. Therefore, it is not usually present in the blood of healthy adults, although levels are raised in heavy smokers. CEA is a glycosyl phosphatidyl inositol (GPI)-cell surface anchored glycoprotein whose specialized sialofucosylated glycoforms serve as functional colon carcinoma L-selectin and E-selectin ligands, which may be critical to the metastatic dissemination of colon carcinoma cells. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing CEA are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as CEA may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. CEA also interacts with the following gene(s): CEACAM1, CEACAM8, SRC. Bladder, Blood, Bone Marrow, Intestine, Lung, Pancreas, Prostate, Skin, Stomach, Trachea tissues are correlated with this protein. Adenocarcinoma, Breast Neoplasms, Carcinoma, Carcinoma, Squamous Cell, Inflammation, Leukemia, Lung Neoplasms, Lymphoma, Necrosis, Neoplasms, Experimental are some of the diseases may be linked to CEA antibody.
