The CDK1 cdk1 (Catalog #MBS502011) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Phospho-Tyr15 cdc2 reacts with Human, Xenopus and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s cdc2 (Tyr15) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB).Quality Control: Western blots performed on each lot.
WB: 1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CDK1 cdk1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The CDK1 cdk1 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #9506475) (NCBI Accession #NP_062169.1) (Uniprot Accession #P39951). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the Anti-Phospho-Tyr15 cdc2 with the following immunoassay(s):
Testing Data
Affinity purified rabbit polyclonal antibody.
Antigen: Phosphopeptide corresponding to amino acid residues surrounding the phospho-Tyr15 of rat cdc2.
Immunogen Information: Synthetic phospho-peptide corresponding to amino acid residues surrounding Tyr15 conjugated to KLH
Immunogen Species: Rat. Reactivity Assumed Based on 100% Sequence Homology: Mouse, rat, zebra fish
Species Reactivity Note: The antibody has been directly tested for reactivity in Western blots with human and Xenopus tissue. It is anticipated that the antibody will also react with mouse, rat and zebra fish based on the fact that these species have 100% homology with the amino acid sequence used as antigen.
Biological Significance: Cdc2 is a highly conserved protein serine kinase that plays a key role in regulation of the cell cycle (Maller, 1991). The ability of cdc2 to exercise control over the cell cycle is dependent upon the phosphorylation of Tyr15 in cdc2 (Nakamizo et al., 2002). cdc2 expression in brain has been linked to both neurogenesis and apoptosis (Konishi and Bonni, 2003; Dranovsky et al., 2001; Okano et al., 1996). In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing CDK1 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as CDK1 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. Brain, Embryonic Tissue, Eye, Heart, Kidney, Liver, Lung, Ovary, Pancreas, Prostate tissues are correlated with this protein.
