The CDH6 cdh6 (Catalog #MBS570007) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Mouse anti K-Cadherin/Cadherin-6 reacts with Human, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s K-Cadherin/Cadherin-6 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunocytochemistry (IHC), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (frozen), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (paraffin), Western Blot (WB).2B6 is suitable for immunoblotting, immunocytochemistry and immunohistochemistry on frozen sections when using a PBS buffer containing 0.1 mM CaCl2 and 0.1 mM MgCl2. 2B6 is also suitable for and immunohistochemistry on praraffin-embedded sections. Optimal antibody dilution should be determined by titRation; recommended range is 1:25 - 1:50 for immunohistochemistry with avidin-biotinylated Horseradish peroxidase complex (ABC) as detection reagent, and 1:25 - 1:250 for immunoblotting appliCations. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CDH6 cdh6 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The CDH6 cdh6 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #4826673) (NCBI Accession #NP_004923.1) (Uniprot Accession #P55285). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Cadherins constitute a family of transmembrane glycoproteins involved in Ca2+-dependent cell-cell interactions. The members of this family are differentially expressed in various tissues. They function in the maintenance of tissue integrity and morphogenesis. The cadherins generally contain five extracellular repeats, a transmembrane domain and a cytoplasmic tail that binds to the Catenin family of cytoskeletal anchoring proteins which also function as signal transducers. The extracellular domains are responsible for the specificity of homophilic interactions between cells expressing the same cadherin. Cadherins are divided into type I and type II subgroups. Type I cadherins include epithelial cadherin (E-cadherin, cadherin-1 or uvomorulin), neural cadherin (N-cadherin or cadherin-2), placental cadherin (P-cadherin or cadherin-3) and retinal cadherin (R-cadherin or cadherin-4). Kidney cadherin (K-cadherin or cadherin-6) and osteoblast cadherin (OB-cadherin or cadherin-11) are type II cadherins. Cadherin-6 is expressed in the proximal tubule epithelium of the kidney from which most renal cell carcinomas are derived.
Source Note: 2B6 is a Mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody obtained by fusion of SP2/0 Mouse myeloma cells with spleen cells from a BABL/c Mouse immunized with affinity purified extracellular domain of Human cadherin-6-GST fusion protein. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing CDH6 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as CDH6 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
