The CD40L cd40lg (Catalog #MBS535789) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CD40L antibody reacts with Human CD40L and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s CD40L can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Inhibition, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD40L cd40lg for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The CD40L cd40lg product has the following accession number(s) (GI #4557433) (NCBI Accession #NP_000065.1) (Uniprot Accession #P29965). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Affinity purified Goat polyclonal CD40L antibody.
Biological Significance: CD40, a member of the TNF receptor family, is a cell surface protein expressed on B cells, dendritic cells, monocytes, thymic epithelial cells and, at low levels, on T cells. Signaling though CD40 plays an important role in the proliferation and differentiation of B cells, and is critical for immunoglobulin (Ig) class switching. The membrane-anchored CD40-Ligand is expressed almost exclusively on activated CD4+ T lymphocytes. Failure to express CD40L leads to "immunodeficiency with hyper-IgM", a disease characterized by failure to produce IgG, IgA and IgE. The human CD40L gene codes for a 261 amino acid type II transmembrane protein, which contains a 22 amino acid cytoplasmic domain, a 24 amino acid transmembrane domain, and a 215 amino acid extracellular domain. Immunogen: CD40L antibody was raised in goat using highly pure recombinant human sCD40L as the immunogen. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing CD40L are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as CD40L may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. Anemia, Autoimmune Diseases, Cardiovascular Diseases, Heart Diseases, Hyper-IgM Immunodeficiency Syndrome, Type 1, Inflammation, Myocardial Infarction, Myocardial Ischemia, Necrosis, Pneumonia are some of the diseases may be linked to CD40L antibody. CD40L also interacts with the following gene(s): BIRC3, CD27, CD40, IL2, TRAF1, TRAF2. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. Blood, Brain, Mixed, Thymus tissues are correlated with this protein.
