Affinity purified Rabbit polyclonal CD133 antibody.
Biological Significance: CD133, originally known as AC133, is a glycoprotein also known in humans and rodents as Prominin 1 (PROM1). It is the founding member of pentaspan transmembrane glycoproteins (5-transmembrane, 5-TM), which specifically localizes to cellular protrusions. CD133 is expressed in hematopoietic stem cells, endothelial progenitor cells, glioblastomas, neuronal and glial stem cells and some other cell types. Biohazard Information: This product contains sodium azide as preservative. Although the amount of sodium azide is very small appropriate care must be taken when handling this product. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing CD133 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as CD133 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
