Introduction: ITGAL encodes the integrin alpha L chain. Integrins are heterodimeric integral membrane proteins composed of an alpha chain and a beta chain. This I-domain containing alpha integrin combines with the beta 2 chain (ITGB2) to form the integrin lymphocyte function-associated antigen-1 (LFA-1), which is expressed on all leukocytes. LFA-1 plays a central role in leukocyte intercellular adhesion through interactions with its ligands, ICAMs 1-3 (intercellular adhesion molecules 1 through 3), and also functions in lymphocyte costimulatory signaling.
Reconstitution: Reconstitute with of H20. Mix gently, wash the sides of the vial and wait 30-60 seconds before use.
Immunogen: Enriched mouse peritoneal macrophages.
Antibody Properties: Staining and blocking antibody. For staining, use 10 ul/1,000,000 cells. This antibody will block signaling through the CD11a molecule. Titer for blocking should be determined by the investigator. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing CD11a are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as CD11a may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
