Apoptosis is related to many diseases and induced by a family of cell death receptors and their ligands. Cell death signals are transduced by death domain-containing adapter molecules and members of the caspase family of proteases. Caspase-9 and Apaf-1 bind to each other, which leads to caspase-9 activation. Caspase-9 is also activated by granzyme B and CPP32. Activated caspase-9 cleaves and activates caspase-3, a protease responsible for proteolytic cleavage of many key proteins involved in apoptosis. Caspase-9 plays a central role in cell death induced by a wide variety of apoptosis inducers including TNF alpha, TRAIL, anti-CD95, FADD, and TRADD. Caspase-9 is expressed in a variety of human tissues.
Antigen: Peptide corresponding to aa 299-318 of human caspase-9. Stabilizer: None
Preservatives: 0.02% sodium azide.
Dilutions Instructions: Dilute in PBS or medium which is identical to that used in the assay system. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing CASP9 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as CASP9 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. Adenocarcinoma, Brain Diseases, Cardiovascular Diseases, Central Nervous System Diseases, Drug Toxicity, Gastrointestinal Diseases, Leukemia, Necrosis, Neoplasms, Nervous System Diseases are some of the diseases may be linked to Anti-Caspase-9 (I120) Antibody. CASP9 also interacts with the following gene(s): AKT1, APAF1, BCL2L1, BIRC5, CASP10, CASP3, DIABLO, MAPK1, MAPK3, XIAP. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. Blood, Bone, Brain, Heart, Kidney, Liver, Lung, Muscle, Prostate, Vascular tissues are correlated with this protein.
